The teams for this year’s SIKLAB celebration are delegated according to certain Philippine mythical deities as empires in the names of Diyan Masalanta (Grade 10), Mayari (Grade 9), Hanan (Grade 8), and Tala (Grade 7) each representing different dominions and forces. Thus, the theme “Cultivating an Empire of Excellence” was conceived.
The momentum lasted for four days from October 8-11, 2019. It solemnly began with the Eucharistic celebration followed by the motorcade displaying excellence and pride by the Mr. & Ms. SIKLAB candidates. Mr. Elmer G. Muyco, the High School Principal, officially declared the opening of SIKLAB 2019 right after the torch lighting, raising of team banners, and a message from the School President, Rev. Fr. Jessie P. Pasquin, DCC. Cosplayers this year took the resemblance of the deities they had to portray in their majestic costumes presenting their respective teams and strenghts. Then everybody just had to be ready for the highlight of the first day – the Mass Dance competition. The Battle of the Bands and fireworks display lively concluded the day.
The last days of SIKLAB continued with sports events and the most awaited event which is the Mr. & Ms. SIKLAB 2019 where the gorgeous and handsome candidates exuded confidence and competence in their talents, physique and eloquence. Empires consequently hailed their new king and queen at the end of the day. Awarding ceremonies concluded the whole celebration marking that NDTC Junior High School Department excels indeed at all times.
Hataw, sports events and club booths filled the atmosphere with a jovial vibe. The PASIKLABAN contests further lifted the spirit of cheerfulness and excellence with expectacular and creative performance by the students from different teams. The contests were spoken word poetry, acappella, dance duo, theatrical lip sync, and the hip-hop. Teams resonated screams of victory.
